Security Cameras Alarms and Monitoring 818-810-9111

Why use Cameras and Security Alarms?

The primary objective of servailance cameras and security alarm systems is to protect yourself and your personal belongings. It’s always best to defer the intrusion before it begins. This can be done by posting signs in your yard, by having stickers posted at the entry locations of your property, and by having visible cameras around your property. Next best step is to stop the intruder as they are trying to enter your building. This can be done with door and window sensors that will activate a high decibel siren. The third deterrent is motion detectors in the building to activate the alarm system. The four is to get notifications sent to a monitoring company or sent directly to your smart phone, so you can contact the authorities.

Intruders avoid homes with alarm sirens, motion lights, and cameras. They don’t like the extra attention drawn to them by the noise and visibility. Studies show that homes with alarms and cameras are far less likely to be broken into than unprotected homes. Also, most insurance will give discounts of up to 18% when a property is protected by a security system.

Surveillance Security Cameras

Surveillance cameras allow people to monitor a property from any location with computers and smart phones. Theses cameras are usually hardwired directly to the NVR controller or they can be connected through wireless WiFi. Most of these cameras have motion detection that will send a signal to a smart phone or computer when there is movement at that location. Quality cameras usually have infrared LED’s that enable high quality night vision when there is no light.

Cameras Usually Contain:

  1. NVR controller/recorder with internet integration

  2. Cameras

  3. Wiring

Home Security Alarms Operation

The security alarm works by monitoring the entry points at the home with sensors and motion detectors. These sensors and motion detector communicate with the alarm control system. The control system can communicate to a monitoring company/ property owner through a phone line or with an Ethernet line.

Security Alarm Systems Usually Contain:

  1. Controller (with optional phone or internet integration)

  2. Door/window sensors

  3. Motion detectors

  4. Siren

  5. Wiring

  6. Remote controls

Motion Detectors

Motion detectors usually use a photo sensor with a low power laser or focused light to detect movement at the location. Some motion detectors use passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect infrared energy emitted from humans and animals. When the motion detector has been activated, it sends a signal to the alarm control system. Motion detectors are usually installed inside homes and they detect the intruders after they have already entered the home. Some motion detectors are used outside the property, but these can get activated by any movement, so they could be activated by birds, animals, and objects moving in the wind.

Alarm Control Systems

The alarm controller is a programmable microprocessor based system. It receives the signals from the sensors, then depending on how it’s programmed, activates a high decibel audible siren and it may send notifications to the owner or monitoring company. The controller can usually be activated/deactivated directly on the unit or with remote controls. Most quality alarm controllers display the zone that has been activated, so the properly owner can determine the point of entry.

Door/Window Sensors

The door and window sensors have two components; the magnetically activated micro switch and the magnet. These sensors send a signal to the alarm controller when there’s a change in condition (when the switch is opened or closed). These sensors are installed on the doors and windows in the home. These sensor help stop the intruder before they get into the home.
